Southside Pale is a beer all about balance, which celebrates what can be achieved with UK grown hops. More specifically hops from Hukins Hops: a great, family run and carbon neutral hop farm in East Kent.
Heaps of UK grown Cascade, a touch of Pilgrim hops and Ernest in the dry hop, all make for a citrus fruit sensation with an apricot flavour playing the supporting role. Hints of tropical fruit come through from the yeasty esters and the premium Clear Choice Pale Malt supplies a moreish honeyed sweetness. A medium and percussive bitterness balances all this sweet fruitiness; a bitterness which yields an earthy and spicy character so distinctive to the hops from Hukins.
